VICOROB (Computer Vision and Robotics) is a research group within the Computer Architecture and Technology at the University of Girona and is composed of 75 members (20 PhDs). The research group has actively been working in the field of medical image analysis for the last 15 years, with a special focus on the digital mammography and the development of tools to help radiologists in the early detection of breast cancer. More specifically, VICOROB researchers have experience in developing methods for mass detection in mammography incorporating both lesion shape and density information. VICOROB researchers have also expertise on temporal and contralateral mammographic image comparison based on image registration and region matching, and have proposed several works on model based and probabilistic image segmentation applied to breast MRI and ultrasound imaging.
